New snake plant has a brown spot

Just impulse bought this big fella from my local grocery store, noticed one of the leaves has a brown spot on it, should I leave it? Cut that leaf down to under the bad spot? #SnakePlant

I would keep a close eye.

These can happen in transit but can also be an infection. I've had many snake plants shipped and two have gotten brown spots. One was light and never got worse, the other was dark and squishy and continued to grow. In the case of the latter I cut off the leaf and threw it out.

I would keep an eye for a week or two to ensure it's not getting worse or spreading. You can also just cut it off to be on the safe side!
I think it's fine, you can leave it πŸ‘
@PlantMompy yeah this one looks kinda squishy, I might just cut it to be safe.
Personally, with a plant that big and full, I would. It's not worth other leaves getting infected if it is bad and you won't notice it's missing!
Mine came like that. I just cut it and got rid of the bad part. I didn’t want to risk the rest of the plant.
He’s lovely πŸ₯°. Snakes are forgiving. I’d remove the leaf.
I absolutely agree with removing the damaged leaf and I would then treat with an antifungal. This happened to me. Initially I thought it was an injury but it quickly spread. It was soft and mushy spots. I lost the entire plant.
@Stall54Jo I cut the leaf, going to keep a close eye out for any more spots

Cut the leaf into three parts. Get rid of the part that has a brown spot. Put the other two parts in soil and propagate. 🐍
@AdonicBaytree Welcome to Greg, Kristin. I agree with @PlantMompy πŸ’―
