Gnats are an absolute pain. I can’t exactly remember how to treat plants for gnats specifically, but if you use more specific hashtags then someone should be able to help, eg: #gnats #PestControl
@PiousWaterfern Oh my goodness thank you so much for letting me know about the hashtags. ❀️
@HealingRoots not a problem!! The more people that are members of certain hashtags, then the more people will see your post and be able to help! Good luck defeating the gnats!
I have had the most luck with Mosquito Bits. You make a sort of tea with them. I put them in a gallon jug with warm water and let then sit awhile. (Directions are on the package.) Then I use vinyl mesh to cover the top and water my plants. I do add at least 1 more gallon of water as I finish the first one without adding more bits. I have almost 100 plants, so use the amounts your plants require. It will still take some time, but they work fairly quickly.

Put out yellow sticky traps, too. Then you’ll know when the onslaught has ended. 😊 I keep a couple of the traps out all the time. They’re cheap and I can catch a new attack very quickly.

Make sure you always bottom water and let the dirt get as dry as appropriate for your plants. The gnats need damp soil.

Good luck!!! They are a plague upon humanity!!!

I heard sticky traps works well!
@Emilyvsnick Sticky traps do help a lot. The only issue is that they only catch the adults and it could be after they’ve already had the chance to reproduce. Using something like Mosquito Bits kills the larvae in the soil before they breed. It’s the most efficient way to end the onslaught. 😁 If you use the sticky traps also, you catch them in 2 life stages which is terrific! You can also watch the traps to check on the progress. No new bugs for 5-10 days and you should be good to go. I keep a couple in the soil at all times so the beasts have no chance of a sneak attack. πŸ˜† ❀️
