Mouldy roots

My spider plant’s roots have started going fluffy with white mouldy! What should I do? He’s not in soil, I just water him once every two weeks ish when he starts looking grey.

@faithiweddle I would use a sharp clean knife to cut off all the affected bits. The root rot can spread into the crown of the plant and kill it. Then treat it with something antifungal. Lots of people recommend hydrogen peroxide but I haven't used it myself. Good luck! Oh yes also add a few hashtags to your post so more people can see it. @WickedValkyrie might have some advice about soil-less growing and peroxide? πŸŒΏπŸ’•
If it's not in soil, what's it in? Sometimes leca can hold on to mineral deposits in water.

If the roots are still firm and the plant doesn't seem to be affected, I would just keep an eye on it.

Can you show us a picture of how you usually keep your plant?
@faithiweddle Hello πŸ‘‹ Faith. I was told by a local nursery to trim up the roots with sterilized pruners or scissors and then use insecticidal soap on the roots. They said that will help prevent moldy roots or root rot from happening again. So I have been using Captain Jack’s Insecticidal Soap. So far it has helped.
@faithiweddle more information.
Is it in water? If so, make sure to change out the water every few days
