Moss in the soil?

So I think there may be some moss growing on the inside of my succulentsโ€™ pots?? Theyโ€™ve been in these pots for a bit and I donโ€™t water frequently (but when I do I bottom water for around 20mins, and then place these ones in particular on a towel to help pull out extra moisture through the crude drainage holes). Iโ€™ve only noticed this moss(?) in the last day or so, and Iโ€™m wondering if itโ€™s something that I need to deal with. My two succulents look otherwise healthy.

Wait this is happening to mine too Iโ€™m interested to see what it is.
@PiousWaterfern @LiftLashPlant it looks like algae to me. Harmless. Usually due to compacted soil, poor drainage, low light and overwatering. Bottom watering could be contributing to the algae growth although placing on a towel like youโ€™re describing should be helpful. Are these pots with drainage or are they containers that you made holes in? You said crude drainage holes ๐Ÿ•ณ๏ธ so Iโ€™m wondering about that. Algae shouldnโ€™t be a problem. It wonโ€™t take away anything from your plant. If you find it unsightly then you can repot into clean container with fresh soil.
@MariansOasis ugh thatโ€™s so weird bc I have drainage grow lights on top of bright room for the darker corners and circulation. At least itโ€™s harmless
@MariansOasis yeah it was originally a yoghurt pot I believe which I made holes in! They are large enough to let water flow through, but it does struggling sometimes so I put the towel down to help it out like you say. I donโ€™t mind the look, just glad that itโ€™s harmless!
@LiftLashPlant yes, I have it in one of my orchids and the bottom saucer for one syngonium. I clean it up every now and then. If it starts to get worse then Iโ€™d probably change the pot and soil. Donโ€™t reuse the pot unless you clean it out really well. Because youโ€™ve got pretty much everything right, it may be compacted soil so not as much oxygen getting to the bottom which could encourage algae growth.
@PiousWaterfern yeah the plants look cute otherwise! A lot of times if I feel like the pot has taken up too much water, I put paper toweling at the base to absorb. I keep doing that until the paper towel isnโ€™t absorbing much water anymore.
Looks like Algae
My perlite does this sometimes too, itโ€™s normal I think itโ€™s just from moisture I donโ€™t think it hurts the plants, but you can repot if you are worried about it
Itโ€™s like algae im pretty sure. Itโ€™s normal to see this
