Pest ID

So not to long ago I posted about my tiger jaws, and some little red looking bugs, they are almost microscopic but they aren’t.. I haven’t been able to get rid of them. It doesn’t seem like they’re causing any damage to the plant but then again I’m not sure I’m not sure what type of bug they are. They are super small and red. They almost look like little mites I wasn’t sure if they were bugs and then I zoomed in on my camera and I could literally see them moving.🫠 anyways can someone tell me what they are and how to get rid ? And if they are harmful? #PestControl #pestID #PestControl #HappyPlants #tigerjaws #Faucaria #PlantAddict #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

@TidyTigerpear That makes sense. You definitely can catch a glimpse of spider mites if you’re looking hard enough. Seeing one if them scurry along a leaf leaves me with chills running down my spine πŸ˜‚ I don’t have many succulents, but here’s an article with ideas…https://succulentcity.com/succulent-spider-mites/
Are you spraying with bug spray and if you are is it working?
My guess is spider mites. Often you’ll see tiny webs in crooks of the plant too. Ive had luck with a spray/systemic combo. I use Bonide systemic and whatever spray I have on hand. Also be sure to quarantine so they don’t spread to other plants. Little stinkers!
@clairsheart I don’t use a foliage spray because I’m scared to damage it , succulents tend to me more sensitive to oils/chemicals on the leaves. However I do use an insecticide & fungicide mixed into my water, every time I water them. & also have been manually removing them.
@debbiedo I thought it was some type of mite last time I asked, someone said they weren’t visible to the eye so it wasn’t mites. But I’m not sure if that’s true for all pests or these particular ones cause I deff see them! I use arber brand insecticide and fungicide mixed into my water, and use it every time I water them. But I don’t spray the foliage because I’m afraid it will damage them. They can be very sensitive to oils/chemicals on the leaves.
I have something similar with my cornsilk dracaena. Teeny tiny red bugs that just look like dots until they move. I never see them on HIM just in and on the pot, but only when I water and they run out. It's so odd.
@Bunny413 yeah I would probably change your soil! It’s spider mites and they can eventually damage the plant. Also check your plant well because they hide in crooks and cranny’s.
Also I was admiring your BEAUTIFUL oasis this afternoon! Absolutely stunning and well cared for succulents !! Where do you get your plants from ? And what soil medium do you use ? They just look so beautiful & healthy.
Another thing, your bio I can totally relate too! I recently had a run in with fungus knats and had to toss quite a few plants, needless to say it sent me into a spiral of panic, anxiety, & depression which led me to backing away from my plants and buying more for about a month. I can relate to feeling like a failure, but I realized with so many plants it’s pretty much inevitable to have some pest issues ! So make sure you give yourself some grace ! It gave me a new chance to learn and educate myself to better care for my oasis. I was so distraught about it, but I managed to push through and so did my plants ! Looking back now I may have over reacted a bit, but it was very overwhelming at the time. It’s good to know I’m not the only one who feels this way! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š your plants are beautiful! Be proud & face those fungus knats and mealies with an iron fist πŸ˜‰πŸ€œπŸΌ we got this !
@TidyTigerpear Thank you!! πŸ’œ

I actually havent purchased any succulent babies in quite awhile. Every time I want to start buying new, powdery mildew rears it's ugly head. Those that I have now are from my original purchases last April. Some from Amazon, which I wouldn't recommend. Succulents Box, also wouldn't recommend.
Mountain Crest Gardens and Leaf and Clay have been the best.

For my soil, I use a mix of Hoffman Organic Succulent and Cactus Mix and Bonsai Jack Gritty Mix.

I seem to handle one plant at a time ok, when there are issues. But when one has mealies and another has spider mites, and succulents have powdery mildew, I just break. Lol
