New plant day! Advice welcome please!

Hi! I picked up this arrowhead plant up at a local florist today. I'm going to quarentine it and I've showered it down with the hose as it seemed to have cobwebs and dirt on it. And I've given it a spray with a neem oil solution.
Any tips for a newbie would be welcomed! What soil do these guys like? I've seen on the community they are spider mite favourites!
Thank you #Syngonium #newplantday #arrowhead #newplantmom #pestcontrol

@HelloGreenLeaf congratulations on your beautiful new friend!! ðŸĪĐðŸŒąFor soil it’s totally up to you! They’re quite forgiving and love to be root bound :) yay! I adore the vibrant green color on those leavesðŸĪĐðŸĨđ what a wonderful plant! ðŸĨģThe soil mix I use is orchid bark, chunky perlite & an indoor potting mix. Amazing results in 4 months hahaha basically 6-12 inch’s in that time!!ðŸĨģðŸĪĐ they are fast growers! I had a fungal outbreak and some leaves suffered. To treat it depends on the pest or disease present. Totally up to you and your pest / home ecosystem! The amazing @TheOddAsity has an epic homemade solution for pest control / fungal control that works great! I use it in combo with store bought fungicide / pesticide :) @TheConservator mentioned a game changing product Copper Fungicide and it works amazing for black spot and a lot of fungal bacterial diseases! ðŸĶ  Insecticidal soap is amazing to treat mealy bugs. Or you can opt for a homeopathic method using the homemade solution in the photo below! Best of luck! Congratulations on your new palðŸĪĐðŸĨđ here’s some cred from a Greg shop Syngonium I got in Jan :,)
I currently have mine in water since it didn't seem to agree with soil. It's been thriving for months now.
@HelloGreenLeaf oh!! And this has great info too :)) another gregger posted a video teaching homeopathic pest control remedy :) https://greg.app/post/tjh6w/for-anyone-dealing-with-spider-mites-scale-or-mealy-bugs-this-is-the-video-on-how-to-eradicate-them
I'll chime in that it doesn't like terracotta. I learned this the hard way a year ago so mine got repotted in a plastic pot with drainage and has a cache pot to make it prettier âœĻïļ Best of luck!
@WarrantedMelon I'm trying your method of having them in water. For months I keep getting new shoots, but more dying off than thriving. ðŸĪž it prefers the water!
