That happens when the leaf cellular structure is broken down and nutrients are passed through the leaf in a process called senescence. When the plant moves the nutrients to another part of the plant. When the process happens the pigment within the leaf show. Causing red spots.
It typically will happen to older leaves to put energy into new bigger leaves. It's actually pretty common in a Alocasia Frydek.
