@RegalRedbean73 Carefully! More than likely it is one big root ball under there. I would get a slightly larger pot and take it out of the pot it’s in (you may have to cut it off of him!) and add soil to the bottom of the new pot. Set him in the new one and fill in around it. No need to mess with the root ball at all if you don’t see root rot. Unless it is so tight there isn’t any soil in the root ball! I have cut the bottom several inches off of the root ball before so that more roots have access to the new soil. Then when you have filled in, give him some water. Don’t set it immediately into the bright light let it set in low to medium light for a few days and slowly add more light. All of this is my personal experience, I am not a professional.
