Will my plant die?

#Ficus
I don’t really have any way to have him I direct light, and I can’t put him outside until fall because I live in Arizona 😩

Any tips or tricks to make sure I don’t water him too much? Greg says to do 1 1/2 cups of water every 8 days but that seems like a lot…
4ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
@ShinyPlain1 Water your Ruby Ficus when the top two to three inches of soil feel dry. Pour water slowly over the soil until it runs out of the bottom drainage holes, then empty the excess water from the saucer so the roots do not sit in standing water. Watering Steps Check the soil depth with your finger to make sure it is dry.Use room-temperature water.Pour water evenly around the pot.Stop when water flows from the bottom holes.Empty the drip tray after a few minutes. Important TipsPlastic pots hold moisture longer than clay pots.Check the soil moisture more often in warm weather.Never let the root ball dry out completely.Avoid frequent, small sips of water.
@Ms.Persnickety thank you!
The measurements are correct, but water it about every 13 days, more or less a day. Keep snoozing the Greg reminder so that it learned that it’s not ready to be watered yet. I hope this helps out a little bit. Also, I agree with Monika. ☺️
I would suggest a grow light. Ficus need as much light as you can give them.
@maci.in.bloom I just don’t have super Greg…
If it’s that important I might try to get it. Nearly paycheck to paycheck here πŸ˜…
@MamaLinne I’ll save up for one then. Trying to work myself up to a bonsai!!
@ShinyPlain1 keep an eye on Facebook marketplace. I see used ones on there a lot!
@MamaLinne Good to know. Thank you, Deb!
