Is this plant the poisonous sumac ? Help
Help me confirm this isn’t the poisonous sumac ? B4 me or my mom ends up in hospital? Bc well ya you can’t tell us to not touch a plant wtf..
fun note I’m immune to poison ivy & poison oak 🤷🏻♂️ or at the very least have a extremely high tolerance.
But from what pics show online I’m not trying to find out if I’m allergic to poison sumac 🤯🫣
That being said there is a non-poisonous fruiting kind that is extremely durable all the way to -30°F and you can cut them down insanely BURN them to the ground, and that actually promotes germination.. I think that is actually how these few trees grew themselves. We burned here a few years ago. Or often get out of control with fire lol Moms a lil pyro 🤣 anyways I have seen no flowers. I have seen no fruits. I have seen no red stems so it is confirmation. They aren’t poisonous? ☠️ they are said to be extremely durable and this would make for an incredible #Bonsai with fruit and flowers. That smells delicious if it’s not poisonous and will nearly kill you from the rash that looks like you fell in the fire. 🔥🤯🫣 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict why is there no #poisonous plant group.. or category? this should be automated by the app. I mean people could end up in the hospital… this is what AI should be used for not for stealing people’s information

@Cupcakegregapp picture of poison sumac’’ Greg app keeps saying that it is wing sumac, but it is not
@Cupcakegregapp poison sumac has red branches and stems, though these do not and my pictures are five different plants not different angles. There are no red.
@Cupcakegregapp would be like cutting down a lemon tree because it has thorns. I am not cutting down no fruit tree. It’s going to be bonsai for sure. Hopefully it won’t send me to the hospital because of those damn you know. 🫣🤦🏻♂️ the non-poisonous kind is a native plant from Florida all the way to Canada on the East Coast of the United States. And has been used by Indians for hundreds of years as medicine.
Strangely enough, the only sumac I have ever heard of is poison sumac that’s where my question came from lol I am pretty positive by now. I have touched it. I mean it’s growing in the yard in the middle of the flower bed next to one of the Peachtree.

@OhGollyItsJolly you seemed to have the answers to your own questions. Very dismissive of people’s help. What was the point of the post 😭
@Bmd well I dig deep & research & research some more 🤷🏻♂️maybe someone has a pet sumac as a plant or a bonsai. Of course I’m going to research something I have questions & want answers about Not opinions
@OhGollyItsJolly I mean I don’t blame you. I also don’t think this is poisonous sumac. Poisonous sumac usually have 7-13 leaflets per arm- yours has way more than that. I do absolutely see a reddish hue to your stems, but that red hue is common with most species of sumac- it just stays red on the poisonous one.
I just think @Cupcakegregapp took some time to also dig for you, and gave you information and you completely dismissed it. You can think different from others, or even be given wrong information…. A thank you could be nice tho🤷♂️

@OhGollyItsJolly you basically said “is this poisonous because I don’t want to touch it” and then someone says it’s poisonous or even if it isn’t you shouldn’t mess with sumac for that reason- and your response is basically I don’t even care if it’s poisonous im still gonna bonsai it😅 make it make sense
@Bmd I exactly said “Help me confirm this isn’t poison sumac “ did I not?
@Cupcakegregapp thank you for your time & effort & speedy reply to a question about a poisonous plant I do appreciate it. Very good pic of the red stems I should be looking out for
@OhGollyItsJolly you’re welcome!
@Cupcakegregapp and have fun making it a bonsai ! And don’t go to the hospital!
@OhGollyItsJolly you’re probably correct! but I had one in my yard and in its young stages it was green
@OhGollyItsJolly 🚗 ☂️ 🥜 ☕️
@Bmd what?
@Cupcakegregapp the emojis?! The meaning is up to your interpretation ☺️
@Bmd ok
@Cupcakegregapp it’s not really that hot. “Roughly 82F” That’s just the temperature of the porch in full sun. that being said a laser thermometer shows you the exact temperature of your plant and makes all the difference on some plants. LVPD leaf vapor pressure deficit 👨🏻🔬
that’s a Edgar’s baby dragon fruit cactus sitting there so it’s just loving it and even it was a little bit stressed because it was starting to get bleached.
