Alocasia Frydek Growth

Hi Green Friends 👋🏽Alright so I know this plant is a DRAMA queen. Here we are 8 months in & I changed the soil to aroid mixture and now this new pot.
Any suggestions on how to grow without loosing leaves I started out with 3 leaves, grew 5 by the end of summer and by the end of winter here we are. Spring brought 2 new leaves growth. #Alocasia

@Karrina17 lots of people I know use Foliage Focus and are pleased with the price and results! I use Happy Happy Houseplants, which is a bit more expensive but I like supporting small business. I don’t know about grow queen, but it’s probably similar- you can just check the NPK ratio and make sure it’s 3-1-2. Either way, you can dilute it to about a 1/4 or 1/3 of the monthly suggested amount. Misting is generally advised against- it doesn’t do much to raise the humidity, and makes them more prone to developing mold or fungus. If your ambient humidity is low, a humidifier might be in order! I have my alos near a humidifier and a fan.
You could add some form of a fertilizer to feed the plant a bit and make sure that your plant has the correct amount of water and sunlight. I would ask Google or a AI app to help you out
I’ve found alocasia to want to only hold 2-3 leaves until they feel nice and snug in their pots and are sure of their light source. Then they’ll start keeping more leaves! I fertilize with a diluted solution with every watering, and have a strong grow light above them.
@MamaLinne Any recommendations for fertilizer? I have Grow Queen fertilizer & thinking about misting my plant
@MamaLinne thank you so much ☺️
