He's aborting it. Most likely something to do with a stress factor. Running through the options, i'd say it's most likely a humidity issue, particularly since you're keeping plants that do not need extra humidity requirements behind. Raise to 60% or more with a small humidifier. Don't try to salvage the curling leaf, you won't get very successful with it.
