Repotting or not

Hi all I’d like to know what would you do, I repotted my plants beginning of April and 4 of them are already showing roots at the bottom 😅 knowing that they’re indoor plants, will it stress them if I do or should I wait I little while ?

@Highsye hi Syesha, I would definitely wait! Repotting is very stressful for plants. 🪴 No matter how careful you are, you will almost always break off delicate root hairs, and [most] plants seriously struggle to drink water 💦 without them, until they grow them back.

But that’s not the number one reason. That is, your plants are almost certainly not ready for a new pot. Just because you see some exploratory roots out the bottom does not mean that they’ve run out of space already, sometimes a root just finds its way there 😄 or sometimes it’s just looking for water.

Because repotting can be traumatizing to them, I only do it when my plants are almost or literally busting out of their pot with the amount of roots they have, or I am switching a new plant over to my preferred substrate, or I suspect root rot.

Your substrate looks nice and chunky, btw, with lots of aeration, excellent. 👍 That top middle pot (philo? Epipremnum? Can’t quite tell) looks maybe a bit too big, so I would just be careful watering that one, keeping it lightly moist, but not saturated, until it fills out the pot a bit more. I would have said the same thing re the tradescantia, but honestly those are such quick and vigorous growers that it’s probably fine 😅 Happy growing! 🥰
@DreamMachine a full complete answer , thank you so much, I’ll follow your advice and wait !

I spend so much time learning and correcting mistakes especially regarding the substract ! The pink pot is a satin pothos and yes I definitely put him in a pot way too big… (still learning about him)
Regarding the tradescantia I keep a close eye on the watering just to find the right balance, my little Gary has been thriving so I’m not changing a thing about him 🥰

Once again thank you so much for your help and recommendation!
Hi Syesha, if they are growing roots out the bottom of the pot, I would definitely repot them into bigger pots. In my opinion, it will not stress them. Be careful that you do not break the roots while transplanting. Also, if the roots are growing around in circles. I would gently tap them and loosen the loose them up.
@Highsye well that is a good thing! Regarding learning and correcting substrate mistakes, because I can even see 👀 that you’ve learned a lot 🙌

I did a lot of that too. And you have to figure out, on your own, what the best substrate is for YOU as a waterer and in the climate/environment that you live in. 🤗
