Unfortunately, the pink color on the leaves will last close to a year, before they start turning brown. ๐Ÿ˜ž This is natural. Since the pink variegation on the leaves lack chlorophyll, they are not helping the plant photosynthesize and make food from the sunโ€™s energy, So the plant has to eliminate them to survive.
โ–ซ๏ธBut there are several things you can do to prevent the beautiful pink variegated leaves from turning brown prematurely.
๐Ÿ’ฆ Increase the humidity. Using the AC in the summertime and heat in the winter will effect the humidity around your plant.
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Maintain the temperatures above 60 degrees F.
โ˜€๏ธ Make sure it get at least 6-8 hours of bright indirect light. Too much direct sunlight will scorch the pink variegated leaves.
๐Ÿ™ I hope your beautiful Pink Princess will live Long and prosper with many variegated pink leaves.
Sounds like overwatering, possible root rot. You will need to repot while removing any rot in the process. Your soil needs to be airy so the chunkier the better and you should have it in a pot with drainage.
Also, any part of a plant that is not green will die faster since they lack chlorophyll so you want to include a silica fertilize with whatever other fertilizer you use to make those leaves last longer.
@Goldenquetzal Thank you. I bought it two weeks ago. I changed the potting soil last night hoping that helps.
@Ada3 Thank you very much!
