Broken Donkey tail

Broke a large three-piece off of my donkey tail. Can I stick it in soil with the mother plant or does it need to be propagated before? #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Succulents #Succulent #succ
@Amghou yes you can but let the bottom callus over first. Propagate Donkey’s Tail (Sedum morganianum) by taking 2- to 4-inch stem cuttings, letting them callus for 3–5 days, and planting in well-draining succulent soil. Leaf propagation is also possible by placing healthy, detached leaves on top of soil, though this takes longer. Keep in bright, indirect light, and water sparingly only when soil is dry
@Shells_Garden yaaay! Thank you!!! You’re such a help! :)
No need to root, just pop em back in! Best practice is to let callous over as @Shells_Garden said. That said I typically do it for a couple of hours and it’s been fine. Also I’ve just placed them on top of the soil (no stem) and they usually root themselves eventually.
@MariansOasis yaaay! Love this. Thank you!!!
@Amghou I love your little Chi pic! I used my Chi’s pic for a while 😊 This is Pearl
@MariansOasis omg what a cutie pie!!! 😍
