You’re welcome! Jade is usually best propagated by stem cuttings. Leaves on their own take a very long time to grow, but it’s worth a shot! Plop it on top of some dry soil and leave it in a sunny spot. Once you see growth form, give it a little drink. Bottom watering is the best method for succulent propagations to avoid overwatering/rot. I added a photo to show an example of propagating this way.
Looks like a flapjack Jade to me
Greg can be a bit finicky with identifying plants. That is a tri-color Jade.
Thank you. One leaf came off. Any tips to propagate? I really appreciate the feedback! I love this app and everyone is so helpful πŸ₯°
@Camron here is another pic. You were spot on. Thank you!
@Camron thank you!! Def going to try that. I appreciate the picture too because I'm a newbie just trying to learn. Stupid question...how do you water from the bottom when it's on top of the soil? I'll leave you alone after this haha you've been so helpful
@SassyPlants this is Jade Tricolor. And Yes, it has variegated leaves.
@vvvelo great to know. Thank you so much for the info and picture!
@SassyPlants No worries! I love questions. I bottom-water every plant in my collection. First, I place the pot in a Tupperware container. Next, I fill the container with water. For multiple plants at once, I use a glass baking pan. They typically take 10-20 minutes, depending on the pot size, to soak up what they need. You'll get a feel for how long it takes after a few tries. The topsoil will feel damp when they've had enough to drink. The two plants on the right in my picture are good examples. I take them out as soon as I see water break the surface.
@Camron that's a great tip for watering that I'll be doing from here on out! Thanks so much 😊
@Camron what kind of plants are those? They are so pretty! I also do bottom watering for most of my plants, but I use the wicking pots. They seem to be working very well for me so far. 🀞🏼
@MorePlants13 They are Crassula β€˜Buddha’s Temple’.
