Why is my Marble Queen dying?

This pothos has done well in this pot for over a year, it gets regular watering and I always make sure it needs water before I give it water. But it recently started losing leaves and whole stems, the stem starts to turn black and the leaves turn yellow but the soil is DRY.
In an effort to save it, I recently replaced all of the soil in the pot with an Aroid mix and gave it the option to climb if it wants to. When I dumped all the old soil out it was dry and the roots looked pretty good as far as I could tell.
Now it's just started losing another whole stem. It's half the size it used to be! I'm stumped.

Hi Krista, A Marble Queen Pothos potted in a chunky, well-draining aroid mix is the perfect pairing for Denver's incredibly dry climate. The aroid blend prevents root rot while retaining just enough moisture, meaning less frequent watering. Keep the following care tips in mind for your plant in the Denver area: Light: Place in bright, indirect light. This highly variegated variety (creamy white and green) needs brighter light than a standard Golden Pothos to maintain its marbled patterns. Watering: Wait until the top 2-3 inches of your aroid mix are completely dry before thoroughly soaking the plant. You can easily tell it is thirsty when the leaves begin to droop or curl. Humidity: Colorado’s air is notoriously dry. While pothos are adaptable, they thrive if you provide supplemental humidity using a nearby space humidifier.

Yikes 😢 Krista!
20 feet away from indirect light ✨️ might also be a problem.
All plants πŸͺ΄ need light to live, it's the food they need the most!
It's under a grow light, I might add a second one to it, but it's not sitting in the dark, just not near a window
