Slightly sad looking cornstalk dracaena!
Looking a bit droopy and yellow, not sure what might need changing! #Dracaena #CornstalkDracaena
2ft to light, direct
9β pot with drainage
Last watered 2 years ago
Hi! At first glance the droopiness could be that itβs cold (eg if itβs by a vent or a draft), or that itβs almost ready for water.
But the discoloration makes me think that there might be something going on with its roots. If possible I want you to take it out of its pot (a PITA I know) and see whatβs up.
I did a post on this and will share the link - π±βοΈβ€οΈ

@RealSimpleMama thank you! Itβs due to be repotted anyway, as itβs outgrown its current pot. Will this soil be ok to repot it in? Thanks!
@Alex15 hi! I would mix that with some perlite and orchid bark. A lot of potting soils are too dense so they hold onto water and can cause root rot. π±βοΈβ€οΈ
@RealSimpleMama will do, thanks π
@RealSimpleMama it turns out that Rick is actually Rick1 and Rick2!
Thereβs no root rot, but it was massively root bound and the original soil (coir I think) was super duper compacted around the roots, and not actually absorbing water. Reported them in a 50/50 mix of houseplant compost and an orchid bark/perlite mix, so hopefully theyβll pick up π
