Geo leaves turning brown

#GeogenanthusCiliatus

It has well draining soil I mixed myself, its own personal humidifier that runs 24/7, and sits on a pebble tray. It gets bright but indirect sunlight and distilled water. The leaves that are brown are older. The newer ones seem to be doing better but I don’t know how to make it happier.
3ft to light, indirect
5” pot with drainage

What a cool plant! I had to look it up and it seems like you’re not alone. Sounds like these are fairly dramatic when it comes to watering and like to get 75% dry. But not more or less. Good news is they evidently bounce back well in their new growth 🌱 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OadkyvVHUoc
@debbiedo thank you! I’ll watch. I’m trying not to scream at it, β€œTell me what you want! I don’t know what you want!” πŸ˜‚

@RobustImpatiens I recently read that the browning of the old leaves is natural when new growth occurs. Cut and snip the old brown leaves and make way tor new growth. I also found out that they do not like water directly on those leaves. Water sprayed on the leaves can cause browning. Maybe try moving your humidifier back so that it’s not blowing directly on the leaves but nearby. That’s what I have learned from a nursery that assists plant parents with education and help.
