@Boymom-plantmom π€― WOW that's so awesome!! You my friend are going to have Oranges this Summer!!! ππ This weather is ridiculous right?? Texas is the same way right now. I'm not complaining though! I got up super early this morning and started moving everyone outside!!! It's still been kinda chilly at night here. 40's so I've had to bring them in the past couple of nights but tonight it's going to be in the upper 50's so they'll be alright. We've been together all winter I hope they don't miss me too much out there! π
@princesspitstop omg if I could love a post! My parents live in TX and I grew up up there most of my life so I get it!!!
@Boymom-plantmom HA! Where in Texas??
@Boymom-plantmom I was born and raised in Houston then moved to Upstate South Carolina for 8 years now I'm in San Antonio. I've been back for a couple of years now and STILL haven't gotten used to Texas summers again. I'm filled with dread just thinking about it. Hahahaha I miss the East Coast. I guess you always miss where you're not huh?
@Plants_Galore I have a Meyer lemon tree that made it through the freeze and snow this winter. It's in a pot and too tall to bring inside so I had to lay it down and cover it up with an insulated blanket for a few days. I'm surprised that it made it but here we are! I got it recently so it hasn't produced lemons yet but I'm hopeful this year we'll get some!
@princesspitstop π€hopefully!!
@Plants_Galore Iβm in TN and almost the same crazy weather! I do bring it in during freezing temps
@princesspitstop my pot was so rooted into the yard it was really hard to break free to bring inside. Iβm thinking of going ahead and planting it and covering next winter as well!
@princesspitstop dfw area. I lived in Spring outside of Houston for a few years. Loved it! Itβs 80 here today!
@Boymom-plantmom I was on the opposite end of Houston from you π Extreme South Houston, Pearland area. π
@Boymom-plantmom I never even thought about it rooting into the ground through the pot!! I got it at the end of last summer so it hadn't had the chance to make its home where it stood! I would imagine the sooner you plant your orange tree the better so it can settle in before winter rolls around again. But you're right, you're definitely going to have to cover it. That's tricky. Tennessee can get pretty cold.
