Variegated cupid's plant struggle update

Some of you weighed in to help me with my struggling plant earlier this week. Thanks for all the input!

Unfortunately I’ve been pulling out more dead stems since then. After pulling out 4 more this morning, finally decided to repot in case something bad was lurking down below.
The soil wasn’t overly wet but fell away super easily and the only roots attached were those in the 2nd pic. I stuck some props I had cut in there as well.
soil has lots of perlite and some cactus mix to help it drain really well and hopefully prevent this from happening again. Keeping my fingers crossed this guy can be saved! #Peperomia #PeperomiaPod #StruggleBus
