Gnats I recently repotted several plants now I’m trying to get rid of gnats any suggestions? #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #PestControl
Cut your watering schedule down properly the soil is staying to wet for too long i added a dehumidifier in my room to help with the soil staying too damp
@CunningNeem82 If your gnats are coming from houseplants, let the soil dry out completely between waterings, and place yellow sticky traps on the dirt to catch the flying pests. Fixing Houseplant Gnats Stop overwatering: Let the top two inches of soil dry out so larvae cannot survive.Use yellow sticky cards: Push cheap Expert Gardener Plant Insect Sticky Traps into the dirt to catch adults on contact.Hydrogen peroxide drench: Mix one part 3% hydrogen peroxide with four parts water and pour it into the soil to kill larvae instantly.
carnivorous plants are an option as well
If you’re fighting fungus gnats, I highly recommend checking out DMV Beneficials! πŸŒΏπŸ›

One of my favorite options is SF beneficial nematodes (Steinernema feltiae). They’re microscopic beneficial organisms that you mix with water and use to water your plants. They go after fungus gnat larvae living in the soil, which helps break the life cycle instead of only catching the adults flying around.

Beneficial bugs sounded intimidating to me at first, but they’ve become one of my favorite ways to handle pests in my plant collection. πŸ’šπŸͺ΄
Do bug oils or neem work? I have also seen mosquitoes bites?
