@CunningNeem82 If your gnats are coming from houseplants, let the soil dry out completely between waterings, and place yellow sticky traps on the dirt to catch the flying pests. Fixing Houseplant Gnats Stop overwatering: Let the top two inches of soil dry out so larvae cannot survive.Use yellow sticky cards: Push cheap Expert Gardener Plant Insect Sticky Traps into the dirt to catch adults on contact.Hydrogen peroxide drench: Mix one part 3% hydrogen peroxide with four parts water and pour it into the soil to kill larvae instantly.

They go after fungus gnat larvae living in the soil, which helps break the life cycle instead of only catching the adults flying around.

I recently went through this after planting up LOTS of newly rooted cuttings in soil that had gnats 🤬 What worked for me was letting the soil dry completely as @DreamMachine said, and laying sticky traps flat on top of the pot covering as much of the soil as possible right up to the stem of the plant 👍🏻 If you do have to water when there are still gnats, use 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts water to keep new larvae at bay. They’re annoying for sure, but thankfully they don’t typically do much damage 🪴
@CunningNeem82 I tried mosquito bit tea. I’m sure it helped some, but it turned watering into a full day project due to all the steeping time 😂 I prefer hydrogen peroxide for amending the water 👍🏻
Mosquito Bits was easy for me. You just have to let them soak for an hour in your water, then they are good to go. Just use a piece of pantyhose tied on both ends. Or something similar. I did 3 rounds of watering, and I have not seen 1 fungus gnat since! True Story @CunningNeem82
