Growing my ficus umbellata successfully 🪴🥰
I think I’m growing a green thumb🪴🥰
Last month I ordered little ficus umbellatas from a nursery and when I received the delivery they seemed fine, but lost a lot of leaves a week or so later. Probably from shock and/or cold weather conditions.
So I watched a video on notching ficuses and using Keiki Crazy cloning paste and did just that.
A week and a half later, I’m starting to see tiny little shoots popping out from the notches (and in places I didn’t notch). I can’t wait to see how she’ll grow this spring and summer 🌱

@sarahsalith thank you! 🙏🏽
@RedRuby thank you! The one on the far right is really the “engine that could”. I was nervous she wouldn’t bounce back, but she’s hanging in there! 💪🏽 can’t wait to watch her flourish
@vavavivacious I love when that happens! It's always a good feeling of accomplishment and awe! I have some canna Lilly rhizomes that I wasn't sure would make it. Some of them did, but right when I was about to toss one of them out I noticed a tiny little growth so I repotted him all by himself and... I'll just let the picture speak for itself 🌱💚😁
@RedRuby that’s incredible! I’ve been looking to add a canna to my oasis. Might need to get some tips from you soon!
@vavavivacious I noticed thee biggest leaves I'd ever seen at a park last summer and I knew I needed them in my life. So I looked them up, did some research, and ordered some rhizomes off etsy I think 🤔 and it's been a lot of trial and error. You can't do everything perfect the first time around. At least, I don't 😂😂 I'm just thankful that they're growing right now! 🥺🙏
@vavavivacious Oh me too, for sure! But you can't learn if you don't try! The confidence you'll gain comes from watching the cutting, seed, tiny baby (as I like to call them🌱💚) start to grow and thrive under your care! What I like to do is go to the library and take out some books on that specific plant / flower, try to learn as much as I can, after I return it there's always the internet and #greggang to answer my questions! 😉😏
