Just before/after of my tradescantia (tbh I don't think it's nanouk). I bought it in the end of August and cut it in October to make a pot for mom.
So here some facts and #tips about tradescantia's cut:
1) Cut the hale stem closer to leaf.
2) It's better to have two or three nodes that you put in a soil (better four). Just take off two or three leaves from a cutted stem (it's better to cut a long one). You can also make a small stems, just cut a long one in pieces with one leaf between nodes.
3) You can put cutted stems in water to wait for roots, but it's better to put them in soil out of hand. Tradescantias are really unpretentious plants.
4) Put the pot with stems into the warm light place (you can use growing light as well).
5) First time (about a week or two) leaves on stems will be soft - don't be afraid and give them some time, believe me, everything is ok.
6) On the third week you can notice that leaves become harder (not all of them, but that's ok), it means that your stems start to root. On the four-five weeks you can notice new sprouts.
7) Don't forget to water your stems as the soil is almost dry! (About once a week, two times a week in summer).
Good luck, you can make it! Happy Sunday! #tradescantia #tradescantiananouk #tradescantiazebrina #cuttingsclub #propagationstation

@Dariasgarden Hey Daria! Great instruction! Couldn't have said it better myself! I love my little Tradescantia. They are so easy! I'm in the process of making a hanging plant out of mine by slowly snipping off a piece or two at a time to make the pot fuller! Mind you I only started with just 1! Lol It's a little bigger now than the pic. It's taking forever but what else do I have to do hahaha
@princesspitstop Thank you so much Heidi!! Your tradescantia is so beautiful! I want this kind of it for myself ๐ I love the silver stripes on leaves!!! Oh yes I know you can have the whole bush from one stem but it needs some time (a little bit more time than we expect haha). I made this post because I've never seen the detailed instructions where you can find information about time you should spend on this exciting activity haha
@Dariasgarden Thank you it's very helpful. The leaves are wild looking in the sun they almost look glittery. ๐ What genus is yours? I love it! It looks hardier than the Zabrina. Like if I look at my Zabrina the wrong way a stem breaks off haha God's way of telling me to make my plant fuller. ๐
@princesspitstop I'm glad it is! Is Zebrina such a capricious girl? haha ๐
๐ป I always thought that the Zebrina is one of the most unpretentious genus. I don't really know my tradescantia's genus cause I bought it from the old lady, she didn't tell me. But I suppose it's tradescantia unicorn (maybe)
@Dariasgarden No she's pretty consistent but every now and then if I'm not careful bringing her to the sink for a drink one of her stems will break off. Maybe once she grows bushier at the top they won't break off as much. It seems the longer they get the shorter she wants to be...Ok yeah Capricious. ๐
@princesspitstop Haha well at least you don't need scissors or a garden pruner - she cuts herself. What a tender girl!! I didn't know she has such fragile stems๐ค
@Dariasgarden True that! Yeah I don't know what her problem is. I mean it's not all the time just when the mood strikes her. Lol She's happy and healthy though growing bigger everyday. I'll get a good picture of her tomorrow in the daylight.
@princesspitstop I think it's her special sign to make a new "haircut" ๐ I'll wait for your picture!!))
@PotentPecan why? What happened?๐ฏ
