I sure am glad there are NO LIMITS to questions on Greg HA! I know absolutely nothing about these little buggers. The only thing I do know is when they’re splitting like they are do not water them. Can someone have a look please and tell me if these look normal or not? Should I be doing something else to them? I believe I read that when they split you should have two verses one. That hasn’t happened. They split and that’s it. The outer portion just dissipates. Thank you in advance. #TheWateringHole
I’m just learning myself! But I have found that less is more with these guys! I’ve had them for 3 months and haven’t watered them once so far. Yes, you’re correct- never water when they’re splitting. They take the moisture from the old leaf for the new one. Also, the ones that are super long are etoiliated and need better light. I have a very sunny south facing window and am actually considering supplementing with a grow light. I plant mine one to a pot so that I can water them individually- I’m worried that if a dry one is next to a plump one, the one I water will spoil the one that doesn’t need watered. Let me try to track down a super informative video that helped me a ton- and here are some pics of mine!
Thanks a whole bunch @MamaLinne you have been very helpful, I truly appreciate it.
@Luckeecharm1 @MamaLinne I am also pretty new to lithops but I think that is pretty common to just split. But it looks like this one has formed two pairs? Or were there four leaves there before the split?
I’m also wondering if you planted at different times, because, how is that one on the far left super etiolated like that when the others near it are not? 🤔 Strange!
Anyhoo, so weird and alien, 👽 I love their little 🍑 😜 I hope you had a lovely weekend Tina 🥰
