Short snowflake frosty update:
Though far from being in full bloom, the fragrance is in and it's... special. The first days, the first whiffs smelled like a very well balanced, elegant, sweet expensive perfume. It still does in the morning or from further away. Close up, it's more like a heavy sweet and a bit overbearing scent. More like a teenagers first perfume experiments ๐ I love the first, not so much a fan of the second. ๐ and those buds... aren't they pretty? As beautiful as the flowers are, I wish they would never open #orchidlovers #happyplants

@MusicalRedmint yes!! This is incredible! Wow! I cannot believe it!! :D It looks like a closed flower before it even opens ๐คฉ๐ฑ and man I wish I could smell it!!! I need a bloomer with fragrance ๐คฉ๐ค โจ๐ magical!!!
@Prentyce @TheConservator ๐
Beautiful indeed!! Wish I could smell the aroma ๐คค๐ฅฐ #plantsmakepeoplehappy

Tell me how that show and your specialty nursery work out ๐

@LucrativeHedera thank you. Though, in my opinion for now, there are better smelling ones. I miss the first smell it gave off. That one indeed was delightful. And unlike others, I'll not move it into the living room because I wouldn't like to have it under my nose in that intensity. But she is, beautiful. They do make us happy, don't they.
@Holyvision ๐
thank you๐
. I will post a clearer picture of the shelf when I have the time. It's from ikea, the olivblad. Sadly, they no longer sell it in this white, but I think it's still available in grey and black. I pimped it with those buttonlike sansi 10W growlights that you can just stick to the shelf.
@Hoyaobsessed of๐ course you did ๐ its mostly my hoya nursery and playground. Like I told Matt in the comment before. Will post a better picture once I have the time.

Here you go. A bit chaotic, but that's the background in focus. Apart from 2 catt seedlings and the cactus the shelve itself houses only hoyas. In front of it are also mostly hoya except for the CP tray. Behind the bella to the left, the orchid realm starts, so no more hoya there. The lights are the sansi ones I mentioned above. Normally, to the left, there is another goose neck double sansi above the orchids, trained a bit to the right and the other to the top of the shelf. But since the sansi broke down, the top shelf is empty rn, and the light a bit less than usual. Come spring/ summer, I might break up the dense hoya jungle chaos a bit. But in northern Germany, we really don't have much light to work with at this time of year, so for now, many of my still smaller plants get to snuggle under growlights. Thankfully, all of those are still this small ๐
Edit: forgot to add the picture ๐ here you go

@MusicalRedmint your Bellaโs are looking great!! Nice dark green foliage !!! My foliage is a light green which tells me she is Hungary! I love the post board idea and hanging pots from it !!!!!thanks for sharing !
@Hoyaobsessed Oh. That board is absolutely terrific. Once I saw ikea was upgrading the concept as a freestanding one, I had to have it. (I have limited opportunities to safely drill into walls to build properly hanging flower walls). Sadly, they are only supposed to be standing with the shorter side as height. Which was impractical for me. (The accessories for them do not all fit if you just turn it around) of course, you can just buy the freehanging ones (which have more variety) and use any old bracket on the bottom, if you think about it for a second (which I didn't ๐คฆโโ๏ธ). It's okay though, these clothespin like solutions work absolutely great in it anyway, especially for any kind of nursery or miniature plants (or plants with very light substrate, even if wet. I.e. almost all my plants ๐). And hooks I can fashion myself, if needed. It's a bit thinned out for now for quarantine reasons/ avoiding watersharing, but it's a small wall and it can hold a lot of plants like that.
The original plan was more like the other picture (with those extra mini shelves), but they do not fit in my upright one, like I said. I've come to realize that I like the other look better anyway on that one, especially regarding the light distribution, so it's okay.
Sry, as usual, I ramble on. And am forgetting the main information in the process: The boards, (and the pins, minishelves, hooks etc) are the SKร DIS line from ikea. I like the clean look more than other more open gridwalls, so I'm over the moon that I I found them.
And I love that the very light sansi potclips can be fixed on top of them without any issue, which fits the design very well imo .

Oh. And thanks for the bella praise. She has been happy for months and months. She's covered in peduncles from top to bottom. But they just won't grow further, like I told you before. If I were a person that holds their breath in anticipation, I would be long dead. ๐ซค btw, the smaller bella on the right has now started to do the same thing. ๐คฌ let's hope the coming better light conditions will help. though I had her in higher light before, and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference, except for more of a lime green foliage.
@MusicalRedmint may be some extra humidity blasting her blooms. I let my Bella run pretty dry when they are forming and water when she shows me signs of being a bit thirsty.
@Hoyaobsessed Humidity is constant here. And it's not blasting them. They are just not growing beyond a certain point.
The only 3 times she dropped them (not all of them, just the 3 ones furthest along respectively) was when I didn't water in time and the substrate went too dry. And those 3 dropped buds were in a timeframe of over half a year.

@Hoyaobsessed
Just a quick count, and I saw at least 8 peduncles on the big and 1 on the tiny one. And of those on the big, I'm 100% certain that at least 4, if not 5, have been there for months. She is driving me insane ๐
