@LatiTish84 I literally laughed out loud. This is definitely getting marked βbest answerβ lmao
@LatiTish84 some of them have white flowers! Iβve been just super happy I havenβt killed themβI didnβt expect to get a flower! But thanks for the laugh! Always appreciated! π
YEEESSSSSSSSSSS. Thatβs always awesome when they flower. And the flowers start to get huge. Bigger than the lithops it seems. And thatβs even more awesome that the one in the back is now becoming two on one root system. Itβs so cool when they grow in big clusters with multiple heads. Iβve seen some that where over 30 years old in videos and they look crazy.
@SirLiquorice thank you! I really admire those huge old clusters! I would love to keep these guys going for the rest of my life! I love them so much. My mom teases me that theyβre my pets. Lol. I try really hard to keep them healthy. Theyβre all enjoying the cooler temps weβre having here in Kentucky at the moment.
@SirLiquorice you have some fantastic plants in your oasis!
@Jana85 if you havenβt seen this video youβll love this one. This nursery acquired a huge collection of lithops back in 1986. So they have big clusters that have been growing there since then. Crazy to see lithops that are that old. https://youtu.be/y8-2UYvMrLM
@Jana85 and thanks I still have to add a bunch to my oasis. I keep being too lazy and some arenβt in the app and it wasnβt letting me create a new one, so I gave up on some. I need to try again eventually. I am sure I have over 200 now but not sure how many
@Jana85 congrats on the flowerπ₯³π€© Iβm trying to figure out what Iβm doing wrongβ¦ I watered my lithops and they appeared to be splitting then they go back to the way they wereβ¦ is this normal?
@SirLiquorice I watched that video, WOW I'm seriously going to research Lithops and am probably going to try my hand at growing Lithops π€
@FirstCanna wow, I canβt even imagine what youβre describing! Can you show a photo?
@SirLiquorice holy cow! That entire place is mind blowing! Those giant totem pole cacti! π± And those were the most amazing Lithops collection I think Iβve ever seen. Some of the pots were bulging out from the size of them. I canβt even imagine. I hope I am able to keep mine alive for decades to watch them grow like this. I wish I could visit a place like this in person.
@Sassylimey I highly recommend themβtheyβre so funky and cool! And if you just research a little on how to grow them, itβs actually really easy. Two of my friends grow them, too. And you can have a whole collection in a small space because theyβre so tiny. π
@Jana85 itβs ok I did some reading and now I know the problemβ¦I had my seasons confusedβ¦π€¨ππ
@FirstCanna it looks like none of them are actually splitting currently. They always have a little butt crack. Lol. When they actually split, the leaves will open up and a crack will form and new leaves will be visible. So, as they get dehydrated and then hydrated again, the crack in yours can definitely get more and less pronounced. They look super good and healthy!
I canβt believe I didnβt respond to this yet !! Itβs beautiful π you truly are the lithops lord commander!! @Jana85
@Lithopslover I like it π
@SirLiquorice I would die. I wouldβve bought all I could afford. Lol
@SirLiquorice does that nursery sell online? If so whatβs itβs name?! π
@Lithopslover itβs Rainbow Gardens nursery but I donβt think they sell online. Www.planetdesert.com sells and ships lithops however.
@SirLiquorice planet desert does ship lithops and they have amazing quality, I wish theyβd let pick species :(
@Lithopslover east Austin succulents will ship to you. I am just not sure how often they have lithops. But that makes me want to ask them
If they let you pick species tell them to shut up and take my money! @SirLiquorice
@Lithopslover I just sent them a message to see what they say
ππππππ @SirLiquorice
@Lithopslover you can find nice Lithops on Etsy, too. YongquanLITHOPS is a good seller.
@Jana85 Iβve seen them but I think all their specimens are so small and i worry about smaller sized plants because I have no@idea what im doing and need a forgiving plant
