Hello Persephone ☺️ Your little Kronk is so cute! Judging by his discolouration I think he’s possibly retaining too much moisture in his current pot and it’s causing him to rot. While his current soil blend is nice and chunky it may not be providing the best level of drainage as it compacts very easily which may also be a contributing factor. I’d recommend leaving Kronk on a sunny windowsill (direct sunlight would likely cause him more harm than good as he is particularly sensitive to sunburn in his current state, whereas indirect bright sunlight from a windowsill would still allow him adequate warmth and the ability to continue photosynthesis without burning) to dry out for a few days and aerate his little roots, then repotting him in a coarse but less compacting medium (I’d recommend a blend of one part psaghnum or peat moss and one part small rocks or pebbles to every one part regular or succulent specific potting mix) and perhaps a slightly larger or more porous (teracotta or unglazed clay) pot if possible.
