Even more great news - and on time for #freshleaffriday too:
My Fighting Kate (my most vigorous cattleya (species) seedling) is growing herself a new pseudobulb. I am pretty certain she only does that once a year, and apparently she survived this difficult time acclimating to my apartment and her repot without any major setback and root loss - which is a marvel, especially since she is still this tiny. I am absolutely psyched πŸ₯³πŸŒΏπŸ₯³ you go, girl!!! πŸ₯³πŸŒΏπŸ₯³
Now only to keep the mites away from her... 😬 #plantsmakepeoplehappy #orchidlovers
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Ah. And the Chantilly Lace is still going strong and now even developing her fragrance.
@MusicalRedmint sweet. Happy plant! Happy dance!! πŸ’ƒ β€οΈπŸ•Ί
@CourtlyKingfern yep. Already dancing, with my swinging watering bottle.
@Chevysgirl11 yep very well. the one cattleya baby giving me no issues at all. But, to be fair, as of yet I haven't made any major mistakes with her as of yet, ... as I might have done with the others πŸ˜€
@MusicalRedmint
Woot!!!! πŸ‘πŸ₯‚πŸ‘πŸ₯‚πŸ‘πŸ₯‚πŸ‘
@MusicalRedmint Woo Hoo so pretty 😍
Yay congrats she’s cute
That’s awesome! I haven’t been able to get my Cattleya to bloom yet, I got a brighter light for it though. Great job helping her grow and avoid that pesky set back. Yay more Cattleyas! πŸ₯°
Beautiful bloom too! πŸ₯°
@FlashyCosmo, thank you so much. That bloom was not grown by me, however, since it came in bud from the nursery. Only in the way that I managed to save those two buds from bud blast, which I do take credit for, though πŸ˜€ .
I loved that I get to enjoy those blooms, though, since I fear I might at some point have your problem as well. It's just too 🀬 dark overcast where I live and my window placements are not ideal.
@FlashyCosmo and Yay more cattleyas πŸ˜€πŸ₯³
@FitBrowallia @ILoveMyPlants @UltraKoreanfir thank you. Obviously, I agree πŸ˜‰
You got a keiki!! So beautiful!
@wolfwoman what? No. Sorry, though I appreciate the help. It's a cattleya type orchid. Unlike phals that only have one stem and on which something like this would be a new plant, that is just the way they grow: basically stem (pseudobulb) after stem, after stem, connected by a rhyzome. Which makes it even more beautiful though. It means it is feeling okay and is growing bigger and stronger, so that in some years it finally will grow it's first beautiful flowers. Hopefully. If I don't kill it first πŸ˜€
Way to go, sweetie it’s a beauty
Awesome sauce!
