Does anybody know what type of cactus is this and i got and aloe vera and that cactus today. #CactusClique #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
Hi @Ingardening89 I’m no good with either cactus or aloe πŸ†” but I can add a few tags for people who most likely can πŸ†” for you. They’re both really nice πŸ‘. Also if you add hashtags to your post it helps get more people noticing it. Like #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #AloeVera #Cactus #HappyPlants #SucculentLove
Oh okay πŸ‘
@MariansOasis @Ingardening89 Sorry I am no good with cacti either. I would guess a golden barrel cactus πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ But does it not give you the πŸ†” here where I’ve circled?
Welp atleast the aloe is understandable
@Ingardening89 I’m fairly new to cacti, so I don’t know.
Well only @planthoe40 would know
@Ingardening89 It looks like a Lemon Ball/Golden Ball cactus to me. You can tell by the yellowish spikes and ball shape of the cactus. They prefer terracotta pots and require at least 6 hours direct sunlight a day. It’s a good windowsill plant in an east or south facing window. They generally bloom once a year in summer producing a beautiful yellow daisy type flower on top. Water sparingly to avoid crown rot and use a gritty cactus soil. I’d transplant it in a 6 inch terracotta pot with drainage. I’m not sure if I saw it right but I think you also have a tiny baby growing in the soil unless that’s a rock so he careful not to disturb if it is a baby. Aloe looks pretty healthy too. Good job on some great finds. 😊
@DreamMachine @MariansOasis @RefinedSandwort @Shells_Garden i found these beautiful new plants today
The new plants
@Ingardening89 what does it say where I circled? Also, you have to tag people by using their @ name if you want them to get your reply notification πŸ””
@Ingardening89 sooo cool 😎 congrats!!!!
@DreamMachine it said notocactus leninghausii
Also this is a machine falls and its wild there
@Ingardening89 well, there you have it. That’s its official botanical name. They are always in Latin, and they always have two names, like a first and last name. This is the Golden Ball Cactus, @Shells_Garden was spot on! Its updated botanical name is Parodia leninghausii. β€œNotocactus” is outdated and not used anymore. @MariansOasis

Congratulations!
@DreamMachine @RefinedSandwort @MariansOasis @Shells_Garden i just really wanted to share about my guinea pigs even tho they are not a plant i just wanted to
