Please read. I need everyone’s opinion… Hello everyone. I hope you’re well today I received a Chaste Tree. I ordered it from amazon.com through a company called “PLANT ME GREEN”A Chaste Tree is something I have been wanting for a very long time and it is a fantastic pollinator. I was not home when it was delivered. I saw the notification and rushed back here as soon as possible. When I took it out of the box, the tree was severely damaged by insects and fungus. I just contacted the company and sent them the photos that I posted here. They were closed so I emailed them. I do not believe this was caused during shipment. I believe that it was shipped like that. So much for quality control. What are those black spots? Is this some sort of fungus or scale that was caused by the infestation? That’s terrible Bob. That makes me so darn mad. If you’re Prime member, I’d have Amazon call you (you have to look up customer service phone call), and have them refund your money. Send them a photo or 2 of how it looks. They shouldn’t require you to ship it back (I had same issue- got refunded and they told me to thrivit out, not that I did- I tried hard to revive it but it was too far gone.) I think you have a bacterial or fungal leaf spot. Once you deal with seller/amazon- if you keep it…you have to get rid of all the parts that have the black spots so it doesn’t spread to the stems. I’m so sorry you’re going thru this! 😡
@SillyPlantGirl , it makes me very angry too. The only thing that’s greater than my anger is my sadness. For this is a shrub that I truly love. I think I mentioned earlier that I saw one of these trees about a month ago and it had hundreds of bees on it. I was really impressed. That’s what sold me. Bee keeping is something I am seriously thinking about . I am an Amazon prime member. I contacted the seller earlier however they were closed. I emailed them and sent pictures of the plant. If I do not hear from them in a reasonable amount of time tomorrow, I will contact Amazon Prime. Your information was very valuable. I was wondering about removing the affected leaves and stems now I know I will. Right now the plant is isolated away from my other plants. Thank you so much for your time. 🫶✌️🌸🌱
@Malagueña I was so upset hearing what happened, but of course sad as well. It just boils my blood when I run into people/places that don’t value something living, and money is all they want. I spent almost $50 on a beautiful Spider plant. It was gorgeous in the photo. When it got delivered, the box was almost destroyed from water. Upon opening- the seller watered the plant (still in pot with full soil) and then wrapped in paper towels AND surrounded it in Saran Wrap. Soaking and not breathing for 6 days (shipping). I tried so hard to save it. Within 3 days the beauty was black. I had 1 little green stem and by gosh I planted it and babied it. The photos are the day I got it, and what I have now. I was so upset. That tree is GORGEOUS! I thought about raising bees. But I got Crepe Myrtle’s instead lol. And my Trumpet Vine tree has so many beautiful flowers…I have a LOT of bees now. You’ll have to post if you do it- that’s so interesting!
@SillyPlantGirl , Hello Catherine how are you? I spoke to the company in length this morning. I did get a refund through Amazon. They told me I could throw the plant away. I told him I would rather restore it. They asked me to send them multiple photos of the Plant, which I did. Upon looking at it one of their people told me how to restore it. He did not think it was a irreparably damaged.. I repotted it with fresh soil and put copper fungicide on it. I have not yet pruned off the affected parts, although it was recommended. I will post updates on my poor Plant’s health. I look at it as a sick person who needs help which I am providing it in abundance. 👍🌸✌️🪴
