Does anybody know what type of cactus is this and i got and aloe vera and that cactus today. #CactusClique #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
Hi @Ingardening89 Iβm no good with either cactus or aloe π but I can add a few tags for people who most likely can π for you. Theyβre both really nice π. Also if you add hashtags to your post it helps get more people noticing it. Like #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #AloeVera #Cactus #HappyPlants #SucculentLove
@MariansOasis @Ingardening89 Sorry I am no good with cacti either. I would guess a golden barrel cactus π€·ββοΈ But does it not give you the π here where Iβve circled?
@Ingardening89 Iβm fairly new to cacti, so I donβt know.
Well only @planthoe40 would know
@Ingardening89 It looks like a Lemon Ball/Golden Ball cactus to me. You can tell by the yellowish spikes and ball shape of the cactus. They prefer terracotta pots and require at least 6 hours direct sunlight a day. Itβs a good windowsill plant in an east or south facing window. They generally bloom once a year in summer producing a beautiful yellow daisy type flower on top. Water sparingly to avoid crown rot and use a gritty cactus soil. Iβd transplant it in a 6 inch terracotta pot with drainage. Iβm not sure if I saw it right but I think you also have a tiny baby growing in the soil unless thatβs a rock so he careful not to disturb if it is a baby. Aloe looks pretty healthy too. Good job on some great finds. π
@DreamMachine @MariansOasis @RefinedSandwort @Shells_Garden i found these beautiful new plants today
@Ingardening89 what does it say where I circled? Also, you have to tag people by using their @ name if you want them to get your reply notification π
@Ingardening89 sooo cool π congrats!!!!
@DreamMachine it said notocactus leninghausii
@Ingardening89 well, there you have it. Thatβs its official botanical name. They are always in Latin, and they always have two names, like a first and last name. This is the Golden Ball Cactus, @Shells_Garden was spot on! Its updated botanical name is Parodia leninghausii. βNotocactusβ is outdated and not used anymore. @MariansOasis
Congratulations!
Congratulations!

@Ingardening89 freaking adorable!! If you want to show them in the future, tag #PetsOfGreg and #PetsAndPlants. We all love our pets just as much as our plants. I have dogs now but my kids had hamsters and guinea pigs growing up. They are so fluffy and looks so sweet. Thank you for sharing.β€οΈπΉ
