I canβt begin to express how deeply this plant holds significance for me. It belonged to my foster father, who passed away in September 2025. When we were cleaning out his apartment, I took it because it was in a state of disrepair. My foster father was battling numerous health issues, including the amputation of his right leg above the knee, which caused him immense emotional and physical pain. When I say the plant was in poor condition, I mean it was in a truly dire state. I brought it home and placed it in a cup of water. A few days ago, I noticed that it had developed beautiful new roots, so I transferred it to a 10 inch clay pot. This plant is named Kevin in memory of my foster father, who has passed away. I apologize for sharing this sad story, but I wanted to convey the profound impact this plant has had on my life. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #PlantDads

Beautiful story and beautiful plant!!! I would just like to suggest a smaller pot until the roots fill in more. Your pot should only be an inch or two larger than your root ball. All that soil you have now will be subject to root rot. I would hate for you to lose your plant as it is so important to you!!
Thank you @TerpyDragonfly
Thank you @MissPappys I have a few smaller posts that I will use until it gets a better root structure. How long do you recommend waiting to re transplant it back into this clay pot?
I second what @MissPappys has said, above, in regards to the size of the pot. Also note that some, not all, but most plants have to go through an adjustment phase when transitioning from water into dirt/soil/etc. Their water roots take time to become terrestrial roots. β‘
@MissPappys I was thinking the same thing
@DRGT you are very welcome
@DRGT it looks like it would fit well in a 5in pot right now, so every year in spring you could probably go an inch larger. Give it lots of indirect light and it will grow faster!!
@JenobiBLU I have had arrow head in water for years at a time!!
