What type of plant is it? How are you trying to fix it? If the stem has nodes on it like I think it does you can put it in a container with charcoal on the bottom is broken up sphagnum moss on top of that which I saturate and then more sagging them off on top of that which I wet and then I took the little nodes in there and then I cover it with plastic if the container doesn't have a lid. I know that's a lot of verbage sorry. If you don't have the charcoal you're just going to have to open the container every few days so that it doesn't really mold that type of thing I'll show you one of mine I just actually opened it it had pothos nodes and they actually just stuck some Jade succulent stems in there about 10 days ago and they're already doing amazing. I hate wasting things so those are just containers from the store that you would normally recycle the 1 didn't have a lid so I just make sure I have a hole in the corner that I can let air in and add moisture as needed I didn't have any charcoal for that 1 either. The second picture is mainly string of hearts but I have a bonus fern that came out of nowhere. that was which makes me very happy.
