What an absolutely stunning Rex!!!! These guys need high humidity and frequent watering, preferably between 50-70% humidity if you can manage :) make sure no direct sunlight because they burn super easily, including being near heaters or hot windows. Best of luck!!!
@MilkNewt I have put it in a spot where it gets minimum direct light do I move it somewhere else? It’s on the second shelf in photo
I also have that green sun thing so I hope it will be alright. I’m worried about when summer comes though
@BlingBling that’s a good spot! If you notice it getting weak or sad-looking, you’ll want to move it out into the light more, but it should be happy there
@MilkNewt okay thank you smmm! πŸ™πŸ»
@BlingBling Milo gave you sublime advice; I am only going to say when you get to the point where you are going to repot, you might want to make sure to use something well-draining; you can use perlite; volcanic semi-hydro substitute, New Zealand tree fern fibers, and a little orchid bark, and then just a good soil (I generally use potting mix like Happy Frog 🐸) but something like that, it will be great for roots. I think Milo would agree with that mix, but @MilkNewt will you let me know if I’m wrong on that mix for begonias? Or how I can improve on it? I feel like we can share the tips πŸ™ƒπŸ₯°πŸŒ»πŸπŸ«ΆπŸ»
@Idplantthat You’re spot on! Anything well-draining but retains moisture is perfect :) some people say to use some additives to make it acidic like iron sulfate or peat moss, but I personally just love a good chunky soil mix.
@MilkNewt I’m right there with you; a good chunky soil mix can fix many a problem; and it’s something that can work for 90% of plants in my experience; but that’s just me. 🀣 But I do love to hear how other people do their plants and what they suggest; I think we can all learn or try something new. It’s about the learning in my opinion. πŸ˜‰πŸ©΅πŸπŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸŒ»
