My mom has the unique gift of saying something is cute "for being so ugly" with every hobby I've ever pursued in my several decades on Earth; to wit, I'm refering to snakes, fossils, Punk, avant garde Jazz, Lithops, and other things of that nature ha.
So it's a game to send her a pic of every blooming succulent. This week's plant refuses to stop showing off. The non-flower photo is from January 29th. This is the first cactus that is about 80% Akadama clay and some of the original potting soil.

I have a few of those kinds of plants: a rabbit foot fern that has weird fuzzy rizomes(?) that becomes cuter the more you look at it. And a crazy-looking crested aeonium that I just can't get a good photo of to display its amazing rainbow explosion of pink, green and cream leaves. Lots of succulents are like that too and slowly making their way into my current oasis. Weird is wonderful 🥰
@TheConservator @thenonnon succulents and cacti have the most interesting flowers! They give me sci-fi vibes.
