My Phildendron Birkin (Duke Silver) is loving life in my office right now. I’ve had him 15 months. Tons of new growth with great variegation. There’s a woody stick in the middle, about four inches long. What is this? There’s also nubs (last picture) that look like they are going to be more sticks. Are they roots? Should I do anything? This was Duke when I got him in November of 2024.
Looks gorgeous πŸ’š Nice growing. It’s just an aerial root and more will come. It’s perfectly normal. You can cut them but more will grow. I just leave them be. They don’t grow crazy long like monstera aerial roots.
