I had a question for my #GregGang! I came home and noticed this in my zz plant is it spider eggs? Mould? fungi? Any answers would help! #ZzPlant
Looks like saprophytic fungus/mycelium rather than spider eggs. Itβs very common in moist potting soil thatβs rich in organic matter. It wonβt harm your ZZ plant, but it usually means the soil is staying damp for a while. You can scrape off the top inch of soil, let the soil dry more between waterings, and improve airflow. If itβs extensive or the soil smells sour, Iβd also check the roots to make sure thereβs no root rot.
Sure looks like an infestation of some kind of insect eggs. I would scoop all of that out with a spoon and then tamp down the soil and give it a nice rest. That does not look like salt. My eyeball tells me it is some kind of pest. Wash it away.
