Hi all!! So today I’m out getting my plants ready for an ugly storm that’s coming. Most are on moving plant stands, so I roll them around. Anyway- I went to move my “indoor” plants, and look down at my Birkin- and I thought- no way! I think my Birkin has a flower popping!!! It’s not fully open yet, but the “stem” inside the curled leaf is a brownish maroon color, with a cream colored spathe on top that is out of the sheath. From my research- it says it’s very rare to flower and it takes weeks to bloom. It could be a new leaf, but I’m hoping it’s a flower since it looks so different from all the other leaves that come. What do y’all think? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #OutdoorGrowing #birkin #BirkinPhilodendron

Hi Catherine!
I just took a couple of photos of my Birkin.

I wondered 🤔 💭 😄 the same thing as you and was patiently waiting for him to bloom.

Instead of blooming, the big stalk is producing leaves 🍃 with very little chlorophyll.
They end up rotting and I cut them off when they first begin to show signs of rotting.

I was told by our awesome community here, not to worry...that he's fine!

I don't know if your plant will do the same as mine.
I'm hoping yours will bloom!
@CutePolypremum hi Joanie! Thank you for your photos! I love Birkins- the leaves alone is what made me get one! I’m definitely keeping an eye on mine. I hope it’s a flower but if not- I won’t be disappointed. 🌸💕

Hi Catherine!

Today, I noticed my Birkie is putting out a new leaf 🍃 that has part of it a rose 🌹 color!

I know what you mean about falling in love with them!

They are fascinating...
