Often the weirder looking a succulent is the more I like it. These are called Stone faces, lithops. Sometimes they’re called living pet rocks. They were sitting on the succulent table at Lowes for weeks and no one was buying them. I just brought them home and transplanted them. https://gardenerspath.com/plants/succulents/grow-lithops/ #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #SucculentLove #BeforeAndAfter #OutdoorGrowing @AdonicKohleria2 @BabeVila @BuffCaperspurge @CutePolypremum @DreamMachine @FamedGymealily @HFplantoasis @princesspitstop @GreatestYuzu9 @Kaitlinfaith_ @Theoreyofplants @ThatPlantBitch @somewhatsara
@Malagueña I love my lithops! You rarely need to water them! They will start getting tiny wrinkles when they need some water 😁 Great buy in my opinion!🪴🌿🌺
@Ponytailmom , no one was buying them. They were in the store for weeks. Basically I felt sorry for them and brought them home. Now I really like them. I’m going to purchase more. And make a little garden in a wide shallow bowl for them.
@Malagueña I love it! I have around 10 or 12 I guess. I love watching them grow around their selves! 😁
Definitely don't water too often! Literally only maybe once a month, and when they start splitting you need to completely stop watering. The new leaves get all the moisture and nutrients they need from the dissolving old leaves, so any additional water will cause them to rot. The can be tricky, the only way I've been successful with them is basically ignoring them. I have them under my grow lights and only water with the tops get wrinkly (like @Ponytailmom said). I started off with three, then two of them split so then I had five. Now all five are splitting, so I'll end up with...a lot (I'm bad at math lol 😂).
@stephonicle , thank you for your advice. This type of plant is brand new to me. When I took them out of the store pots it was they were really really dry. I transplanted them and sprayed them with just a couple mists of banana water. I will not order them now for at least a month. Thank you once again, Steph.
They always remind me of a goat hoof that is also a cross-section of a brain and it’s like I can’t process what I’m seeing 😅
Congratulations Bob!! @Malagueña I’ve had my two now for about a month and haven’t killed them 🙌 They can be quite tricky like Steph @stephonicle said 😆 I unalived my first one years ago when I watered it only once, but hoo boy, it was *not* the time to water 😅

I quite enjoyed this beginner lithops video, so I’m passing it along to you too 🥰 Arid Zine: The complete guide to growing lithops — https://youtu.be/xuzGV-xnBAk?si=6tcBZl8p-zUuRbkG
@DreamMachine , thank you so much, Nadia. ✌️😄
@smushface , good morning. I know I had a hard time processing what I was seeing when I first saw them. As I have stated earlier, no one was buying them. They were on a table with dozens of other other succulents. So, yesterday I decided to bring them home.
Took me maybe at least 3 years of testing and research. Then I just gave up. Then here I am finding these in the back room. I got this and so do you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
