What’s causing this to yellow? I have it inside. Too little light maybe?
Last watered 3 days ago
looks like the pot might be too big. have you checked its roots?
@lynnluvsplants I don’t believe there is a such thing with a Colocasia. You can grow them in ponds or in ground?
@OhGollyItsJolly yes but if it’s too big of a pot, the water will sit in the dirt causing bacteria and root rot! that usually causes yellowing. i’m just looking at the photo and it looks to be too big :)
They are an under canopy plant in forests could be getting too much direct sun. They can & will definitely fry. If I have any suggestions add fish fertilizer fixes too many issues not to mention it bc very well could be nitrogen deficiency very unlikely do to over watering you could plant it in a pond & it would thrive
15& 20 gallon pots
@lynnluvsplants considering it’s an elephant ear it very well could be early sign of spider mites. Think I have like 8 different kind of elephant ears mites definitely can be an issue with them
@OhGollyItsJolly true!! i guess we’ll find out once they respond haha
@lynnluvsplants you ever had one try to move itself ?? The one in the far right pot for some reason like to throw out shoots that be like 2-4ft long with a small knuckle of a root ball on the end trying to plant babies !!! It’s grabbed onto the ground & dug in. Then I cut the shoots off & move the plant lol it’s the funnies thing I’ve seen in elephant ear world. Out of so many I’ve had this only one that has ever done it
