Lacewing larvae: my aphid solution

The #aphids have been attacking a lot of my plants lately with no sign of getting better, so I called the BUG guns in again. I seriously love #lacewinglarvae for this.

I ordered 4,000 eggs a couple days ago and thank goodness they arrived today as I found the aphids on another plant! πŸ₯²

Most of my monsteras, prayer plants, syngoniums and ZZs have been getting devoured and it's sad seeing how bad some of them look. I have included a snap of my Athena infested with aphids, the most recent victim of the attack.

If you're Aussie and curious about bugs">#Beneficialbugs #beneficialinsects, this is where I buy mine from. I have used lacewing larvae before and they absolutely decimate aphids in no time, even better than I found with ladybugs.

After they do their job, what happens to the lacewings?
@TruthfulApricot this is the info sheet I received from the company. They can turn to their adult form, living for 3-4 weeks and can create further generations if they have the plant resources available like nectar, pollen and honeydew. Also have a picture of one already getting to work carrying some 'junk' on one of my plants πŸ™‚ the specific lacewings I have are #malladasignatus too, native to Australia
Interesting facts about lacewings. I’ve had a few in my house. Didn’t know they were good for anything special. 😍
@JCPlantProper yeah, I have done this in the past, but I much prefer letting these bugs do their job than blasting the plants with a hose because that's too many plants for me to move. They can have the aphids to munch on and look adorable cleaning up the plant debris ☺️
@Pegster I had no idea either until looking for predatory bugs to get rid of aphids! So they not only look awesome as adults, but as larvae they are adorable blobs of debris walking around getting rid of the evil plant killers ☺️
