So I was watering my alocasia and I noticed teeny tiny little bugs. I can’t tell if they’re fungus gnats or something else. It’s the only one I noticed with it on there in my little green house. I’m talking super tiny and almost silverish. I sprayed some treatment on it and it’s in quarantine. I sprayed down all my plants in that green house too #Alocasia
This happened to me as well when I watered my plants too much. I ended up repoting them and they were fine after that. I stopped watering then so much and it hasn't happened again. If you don't want to repot them, I would suggest getting some of those sticky fly traps for plants. The ones that you stick in the dirt. They've been super helpful in getting rid of all flying creatures.
I’ve heard a lot of people have success with nematodes or the sprinkle in the soil stuff!! Like the pest control granules. I will always have gnats sadly (just where I live). But!! I do love Zevo traps as well. Also, I do rotating pest / natural & organic sprays to keep them away from my plants 🤩✨. Here’s some stuff below you can find on Amazon! Best of luck 🤩🌱 hopefully we kick those critters to the curb!! & a homemade solution :)
You might be referring to springtails. If these sliverish bugs are only crawling around in the soil and not on the plant or flying around, they are just springtails, which are harmless to plants. Springtails are decomposers attracted to wet organic soil, specifically potting soil, due to their high organic matter content. Terrarium enthusiasts love them because they are one of many insects that keep things tidy.

However, as others have stated, they are one of the tall tale signs that you might be over-watering, so you should be careful; otherwise, their presence will not threaten your plant.
