I had to take a step back because I found a mealy bug and spider mites on 2 of my plants so I’m in a fight for my life now 😬. I’ve got 200 plants so I’m working on killing these pesky buggers and then prevention.
I can’t figure out where they came from but they sure as heck ain’t staying here.
But as soon as I get this under control the Dougie Fresh is back on 😁!

@Sonja yikes! Are you keeping new plants quarantined for a while before putting them with old plants?
I keep my plants in quarantine for months spraying often with Natria. I wash new plants (not succulents or cacti of course) with peppermint Castile soap as well.
I use wintergreen alcohol to spray any mealies and wipe off before spraying pest spray.
The spider mites, some plants are prone to them like alocasias and calatheas and I refuse to have any.

@AwesomePlants apparently I didn’t quarantine something long enough. The mealy bugs I killed off with alcohol and cotton balls and sprayed with sexy plant juice. I washed the plant and repotted…cuz…well ain’t no way I’m keeping that dirt.
And way to go calling me out about my Calatheas and Alocassias! The Calathea, of which I’ve had about 6 months is the spider mite monster!
If I knew what I know now, a Calathea would never step foot in my house. As a matter of fact, over the weekend I trash binned 2 Calatheas cuz I’ve just had it with them.
The white fusion Calathea is the one giving me the blues. She’s gorgeous but if she don’t get her 💩 together she will be in the bin too.

@Sonja you live and learn and I learned alocasias and calatheas are NOT my ministry. Even some philos I loved were problem children.
If you have plants, you'll have pests at some point. Being proactive keeps it manageable. Sorry you're dealing with this.
This is my last haul for a while. I'm focusing on decreasing my non- haworthias because they just don't bring me joy anymore, but I'll be chopping and propping hoyas to recoup my HawTfunds lol

@Idplantthat I haven't. Honestly, I understand for sellers it's business, but I'm done overpaying for hoya cuttings or lightly rooted cuttings when you can get an established plant for the same price.
@AwesomePlants ohh! That’s a very good point. Would you mind reminding me where you said you buy yours? I remember one seller you said isn’t going to be selling until spring? I can’t remember what ones you said. I thought I’d remember, but… 🤷♀️🤦♀️😂
