Happy Saturday Plant Peeps! It is watering day in the greenhouse and of course I found a few that needed some love as well. When you have so many plants that you pull one out that you havenβt really looked at in awhile and find that it has doubled in size and is way more beautiful than you remembered it being, that sort of thing is why I love plants! THEY ARE ALIVE AND IF YOU DONT DO ANYTHING, they will take care of themselves as best they can! My Leopard Plant is that plant this time! It has doubled in size and I love the leaves this guy has! Itβs just beautiful to me! Here is a look from the top and from underneath the canopy! πͺ΄π #plantpeeps #HappyPlants #LeopardPlant #PlantsMakePeopleHappy Have a Wonderful Saturday afternoon!
@Ponytailmom ooh wow!! I love it!! Do you know why itβs called a leopard π plant? π€ Such beautiful glossy leaves π±π«ΆπΌπΏ
@DreamMachine I do, when the leaves have the right kind of light ( and I havenβt taken the time to figure out what kind that is yet, but I am now!) it gets bright yellow spots all over the leaves, some people call it the firefly plant. π
@DreamMachine Also, these leaves are as large as my hand with my fingers spread out! So pretty! π
@Ponytailmom I am nose deep in a Google search about that very same thing. Thanks for sparking my curiosity ππ
@DreamMachine If you find out, please let me know! π
@Ponytailmom WOW!! I was wondering how big yours were! I just found this picture online and 𫦠π I LOVE it π»
Also my searches said only some cultivars become spotted, but there are a lot with just glossy solid green leaves like yours. I think I like your kind best π©Ά

@DreamMachine yep! This one leaf acts like he wants his spots butβ¦.. not really π Iβm happy either way! I love it!
@Ponytailmom sheβs beautiful! π€©
@Ponytailmom So pretty! The shape of the leaves remind me of my Beefsteak Begonia, one of my favorites β€οΈπ
@Idplantthat oh cool! I would love to see yours!! π«ΆπΌ
@Dawgfreak thank you! I love her so much!
@Idplantthat It so weird! When I ordered this plant, it showed the spots, that is what I thought I was getting, and since Iβve gotten it, which has been 2-3 years ago, on occasion one will look like it is trying to get the spots but you can barely see them so I did some research and found two different places that said it was about the kind of light that they are in. I am considering putting mine out in the greenhouse to see if I get the spots too. Right now I have two leaves that have lightly colors spots on them. I think I will try it especially since you have yours in the greenhouse and it is ok. Where do you live if you donβt mind me asking?
@Ponytailmom not at all. Iβm more than happy to answer any questions. Iβm in Utah but pretty certain Iβm in zone 6. But from my understanding, this plant has two different typesβ one that has the spots and one that doesnβt. I mean, I could be wrong, and I wouldnβt be surprised if I was π€£. Mine is in the greenhouse. Itβs in indirect light and higher humidity . It hasnβt gotten very large yet, but I got it when it was just a seedling. π±
@Ponytailmom it looks like itβs spotted you can see it trying to pull through. π€π€Iβll get a picture in a moment if I can get out there tonight π€π«Άπ»
@Idplantthat they are pretty! I love the firefly spots! Thank you for sharing! That reminded me of something I have to photo for someone on Greg, itβs in my greenhouse too and I spend two hours up there last night and forgot all about it! Dang it! I will try to remember tonight! Thanks again! ππͺ΄
