Does this plant still look alive? Hubby says it's not but i pointed out it's still green so it's still alive. What's the brown stuff? Sunburn?

It's very much alive! The brown if it happened all at once is low humidity or you left the soil dry out. I've always kept mine covered in a terrarium.
If it was slow it's just the life cycle with any plant they lose leaves and grow leaves. No leaf lasts forever.
Her pot looks like it plenty of water. So I would cover her with something to create more humidity. I don't think it's sunburn because the leaves underneath are also brown. 🩷

You want around 60% humidity. The way to tell if it's enough is to look for her shiny, glue-like secretion (mucilage). That's what helps her catch bugs. If it's not humid enough she won't produce it. I'm not seeing any on yours which says she needs higher humidity. 🩷
