It needs a pot with drainage. You need to unpot and check the roots for rot. If roots are black and, or mushy, that is rot. Carefully remove rotted roots. Repot in succulent mix with perlite for good drainage, in a pot that is only 1 to 2 inches larger than the root ball of the plant. Only water when the soil is dry 2 inches below the surface.
