Good morning ☀️ plant family! Woke up to this newbie today! Planted 2 bare root day lilies a couple of months ago that I got on sale from rePotme. This is the first to bloom👍🙌. It’s labeled butterscotch ginger 🫠 Haven’t planted my own before, the day lilies in my yard were already here 🏡 planted by previous owner. So I’m pretty excited 😊 🎉 🌼🌼🌼

@MariansOasis Good morning 🌞 You're very welcome! 😁 I'm pumping myself full of caffeine ☕ 💪 We've had Saharan dust clouds coming through the Texas Hill Country the past couple of weeks and it's leaving a thick layer on all of my outdoor plants. So, I'm in the process of taking everything off of my patio and putting them in the shower to clean off their leaves. It's a MESS! I got halfway through and pooped out so today I'm picking back up where I left off. I seem to have the energy but the motivation is somewhere else. 😂
@princesspitstop oh no! 💨🌀🌫️!! That’s not fun!! Poor 🍃 🍃🍃🍃 Well, motivation can strike at the weirdest time. Mine hits often at the end of the day, like 4:00. Not sure if it’s motivation though or procrastination that ran outta time ⏰ 😆 🤪
Wow,Marian, that bloom is AMAZING! I made the mistake of sitting on the couch to drink my coffee and now I don’t want to get up 😂 This sweet boy isn’t making it any easier 😍 Today I need to throw pots for the craft show, so I’ll HAVE to get up at some point 🥱

@debbiedo They're getting there! 💪😀 Oh my goodness you make your own pots too??? I've always wanted a pottery wheel! Growing up my mom had a kiln and would do ceramics every winter so I grew up making things out of the slip. Just kid stuff though, you know like ash trays. Hahaha the 80's were a different time! 🤣

I call them Mommy’s Little Murderers. 🥹🫶🏼
Other fun things: my orchid at last in full bloom, my Jacklyn doing okay in its transition to outside of the humidity box, a new Congo nuclear leaf, a silly new Florida beauty leaf, and my milk tree is finally getting some new growth after its chop this spring!

Wow, I am loving those ruffled edges 😱😍 Lilies are one of those plants that I do not have anywhere, inside or out, because they are severely toxic to kitties, and with 5 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ I’m not taking any chances, but OOH do I love to look at them! 🤩 @princesspitstop Saharan dust clouds??! 😳😶🌫️ Wowza, that is nuts 🌰 🥜 At least your plants will be all clean and showered at the end of it 🤪 My parents told me about when Mt St. Helens erupted, 🌋 and there was a thick layer of ash on EVERYTHING, sounds like a pain!! We have it on the reverse today, I have motivation, but not the energy! 🤪 I’m trying to find it 🔍 👀 And Marian, it’s the same with me, I often find both energy and motivation around 6-7pm 🤣🤣 and then I’m scrambling to get into bed on time. Well, I’m yawning but still making strawberry 🍓 shortcake with cream scones 🍰 at the moment because for hubs’ 🎂 today ☺️ I might have to test one or two first 😋 @debbiedo Debbie! @princesspitstop that’s crazy! I have heard about it happening to the Amazon every year, it’s like Mother Nature sending fertilizer because it helps replenish minerals & nutrients in the Amazon, which typically has very poor soil because all the rain washes it away.
@debbiedo your pup is so sweet! I love cuddling with Pearl after breakfast. We ‘rest to digest’ before getting underway 👍. Throwing pots, wow! I’d love to see some of your work!

@MamaLinne I’m in north county San Diego along the coast. I think our marine layer in May & June allowed the lilies to get established, easier to transition to the ground, less transplant shock perhaps 🤔 so got a bloom after just a couple of months in ground.

@DreamMachine I was always a night owl 🦉, couldn’t get me outta bed before 10am and still up with the Late late show! So getting things done always happened later. Then enter infant 👶🏻 years and that all went to 🔥 in a hand🧺. Now I’m somewhere in between and more flexible too 🫠

@debbiedo He insists on building me a she-shed 😂😂 Says he wants me to have my own space where I can get away from him when I need to and where I can have girls' nights. Problem is, with everything he wants to put in it for me it's going to be more like a studio apartment than a shed 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣 (Not that I'm complaining, of course 😉😋😂)
