I’ve had my spider plant for a about a year now and during this time it has grown babies (which grew very well) and after a long awaited (and overdue) repot, I was surprised to see that the roots were healthy and strong, even though it had been in the same pot and had a small amount of water residue in the ‘decorative pot’, which barely affected it! Although it browns, it stays strong and grows well.

Spiderplants are so cute! They do best on bright, indirect light but can tolerate direct sunlight if it’s not too intense. They can grow fast, but their leaves brown easily and if you’re not careful enough they can be broken in a heartbeat... transplant once a year, plant food for leafy plants once a month on spring and summer. You can spray it once a week on the hottest months of the year. It’s got huge, thick roots so be careful when choosing the new pot when transplating!

If you’re getting a spider plant from a bigger spider plant, make sure the roots are strong before you cut it from the mama plant. I did that with my baby here and he struggled for a little while cause his roots weren’t strong enough. Oh and also have a bigger pot prepared for when your spider plant gets big because they grow pretty fast if you take proper care of them.

super easy to grow! i’ve never had much of a green thumb and i bought this plant to see if i could make anything grow... it started sprouting new leaves in a couple of weeks! my mom has a spider plant as well that’s been around a couple of years. it’s gotten huge and has tons of sprouts.
