This beauty has halfway in bloom with snouts 6 flowers on it. I also have another that someone asked me to save and I honestly thought it wasn’t possible but these stinkers are survivors!! If you can’t figure out how much sunlight to give it, especially with a sun lamp, try this. Place it under a larger tree where it gets sun but has the shade to its advantage. I rarely give it direct sunlight. Don’t over-water it. The leaves will guide you.. brown and crispy means it needs more water/food. Dark blackish leaves that curl in means it’s roots have too much water.

This was my first orchid. I have had it for 3 or more years. I love it!! Once you get a hang of it, they are wonderful flowers with a surprising history!!

Orchids are deceptively easy to care for. Water it with distilled or rain water once weekly and keep the room moderately bright and you’ll have orchid blooms for months. When the blooms fall off, keep the plant! It will grow a new spike and bloom for you again.

My cat is an absolute horror to have plants around. He has chewed and chewed this orchid so much it has holes in its leaves but still continues to grow and survive. It’s one of the few plants I can have on the floor as it’s not toxic to pets

Mines dead but it’s a good plant if you actually bother to look after it (why else would I have the app?) and it’s pretty (when it’s alive not dead (otherwise it just looks like soil))

I have always struggled with these. Not exactly sure where I go wrong - too much water, not enough? Too much sun, not enough? The blooms always fall off and never return. Someday I’ll get it right...

I’ve never had problems with orchids, as long as you soak them every so often they will thrive.
Plain black tea soaks are also good when they’re looking limp. I haven’t lost an orchid yet. :)

Following Greg’s advice, for the first time I was able to have an orchid reflower! Ophelia is even more
Beautiful the second time around! The lush leaves at the bottom were strong for the months while she regrew her blossoms. Patience pays with this plant

As long as it is taken care of, it grows pretty fast. I have yet to have an issue with it. I did have to move it to a bigger pot within the first two months of having it.
